WHAT ITS ABOUT:

Tracey Wigginton and Lisa Ptaschinski

The film includes a lot of vampiric themes akin to Dracula, this is in reference to Tracey Wigginton and who she is as a person as it follows her and her life. Continuing off of this, the latter half of the trailer rather zooms in on how the victim was killed. It references a lot of the events which are pulled straight from the incident, according to this trailer it's both a true crime documentary and a horror film. By mixing both of these elements it's bound to be a cult classic.

most of the themes implemented in don't f-ck with cats are to do with subversion

how this works is it moves the story forward including how these cats are being messed with and harmed making us intrigued, implementing both social media and real life in between

dont f-ck with cats is shot fast and snappy, most scenes don't usually last for longer then they should do

TRUE CRIME SERIES

THE MAIN POINT

The main point to portray a true crime series is to inform the general public about crimes that really happened, although exacerbated to a certain extent it gives the point and a feel of danger

EXECUTION

This project is well versed, at implementing both of these elements ie by adding in what the killer performed and her actions by making her crimes grounded in reality, by including the settings and where the victim was actually killed

ABOUT

Bringing this series to life requires knowledge of this crime, how it happened and background of her character who she was and why she did it

SMOKE AND MIRRORS THEMES

Using the medium of film to convey a simple message, the audience are fed information by the characters jumpcuts or either hinted at essential themes hidden within the video. By making an effort to exacerbate the tension. Both true crime and old vampiric folkore are mixed in together to make a unique experience. Following the events of the trailer, it will expand upon this case and give a deeper insight into characters. A much needed shift in the film medium.
